Carousel Link Ads Now Support Right Column Placement and CTAs

We are introducing two updates to carousel link ads: right column placement and call-to-action buttons. Starting today, advertisers will now have the option to deliver their carousel link ad to the right column, in addition to mobile and desktop News Feed.

In addition to this, advertisers can now add call-to-action buttons to carousel link ads via API. The list of call-to-action buttons align with those available for link ads (see list here ). Similar to link ads, call-to-action buttons will only show up in News Feed.

  • Carousel link ads in the right column will render slightly different than in News Feed, only showcasing the first two images available. There are three offsite link click targets for a carousel link ad in the right column: two associated with the images, and one click target below the images, which will drive to the same destination as the “see more” link in the News Feed carousel link ad. The text will automatically render with components of the News Feed carousel link ad: the headline (text below the image) will pull in the Page name; and the text below is the same as the text provided for the carousel link ad.   • Carousel link ads in the right column are available in Ads Create Tool and Power Editor today
  • CTAs for carousel link ads are available in the API
